Mayovsky was born in Seattle and raised there. There’s something about the fresh, clean, crisp air that keeps me coming back year after year, and perhaps that’s why she enjoys forecasting our region’s weather so much… even if it means getting up early or staying up late! She has been forecasting in the Northwest for over two decades and is still fascinated by the ever-changing, bizarre weather our region produces.

Aside from weather anchoring, one of my favorite activities is playing soccer. She grew up playing high-level soccer in Washington State and traveling across the country for tournaments. Her high school teams were state champions, which led her straight to the University of Washington’s intercollegiate women’s soccer program.

Furthermore, Mayovsky enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and our dog Loki. Her children play baseball, basketball, and soccer, which keeps us busy but allows us to travel across the country for games. She considers herself fortunate because she has spent nearly her entire career working in Seattle. Despite the fact that her first TV job took me to the NBC station in eastern Washington, KNDO.

Furthermore, Mayovsky has been fortunate in pursuing my other broadcasting interests. She has reported and anchored the news, covered the Sounders’ MLS championship runs, the Seahawks’ Super Bowls, Mariner’s pre-and post-game shows, Sonics, and all Husky athletics, as well as hosting several national and local programs, including MCing community events.
